Lance Murashige


Lance Murashige is an Algebra I and Robotics teacher at Nanakuli High and Intermediate School in Nanakuli, Hawaii. Lance is a member of the prestigious Teach for America corps. Lance studied Political Philosophy, Policy and Law at the University of Virginia where he graduated with distinction and a concentration in Economics. He also studied engineering while at U.Va. Lance is also a graduate of the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology where he studied in the Computer Systems Research Lab. Lance is looking forward to his second summer teaching with Faifax Collegiate. Lance is an accomplished test taker: he consistently scores in the 99th percentile on the tests he takes, including the TJ entrance exam. He has also earned the “Certificate of Excellence” for achieving an exemplary score on the Mathematics Content Knowledge Praxis examination, placing him in the uppermost echelon of mathematics teachers nationally. He was also a National Merit Scholar Finalist. Lance enjoys sport fencing and Tae Kwon Do. He is also earning his Masters in Secondary Math Education and studying for the LSAT.
