Rikki Rogers


Rikki Rogers recently completed her MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Utah. As a graduate student, she taught college-level writing courses, including Academic Writing, Professional Writing, and Creative Writing. She also was an editorial assistant for the university's two literary journals: Quarterly West and Western Humanities. During her first year of graduate school, Rikki presented a paper entitled "Female Bullying in Young Adult Fiction" at the Peaks Conference at Northern Arizona University and also wrote a paper entitled "Race, Money and Plastics: How Connie Porter is Limited by the Pleasant Company's Conception of Girlhood," which was accepted by the Southwest Texas Popular Culture and American Culture Conference. Originally from Virginia, Rikki works as a as an assistant for local writer Logan Ward, helping him research articles for national publications, such as Popular Mechanics. She has published articles in Virginia Living and Richmond Guide Magazine. Rikki earned her BA with Distinction in English from the University of Virginia in 2006. This is her first summer teaching for Fairfax Collegiate.
